TwinDEEPS members were present at different CIIMAR events to present highlights and results of the project to the scientific community and the general public. During the CIIMAR Annual Meeting, Inês Gregório presented TwinDEEPS project highlights to fellow researchers and collaborators, strengthening connections within CIIMAR’s community.
At the CIIMAR Open Day, TwinDEEPS team members (Carolina Ventura, Inês Gregório and José Queirós) engaged with children, families, and the wider public through an activity named “Guess where I live?”. This interactive activity gave participants the opportunity to associate different Gorringe habitats and human impact features with their respective depth, contributing to increase their awareness of the deep-ocean.
Also at the CIIMAR Open Day, Carolina Ventura presented the talk “A dive into de deep” about the importance of study and preserve deep-sea and some of the results from the TwinDEEPS expedition to the Gorringe.
