TwinDEEPS has been actively building connections and fostering collaborations with other Twinning projects across Europe.
We aligned visions and efforts with TWILIGHTED, led by MARE-Madeira (Portugal), which main goal is to build deep-sea research capacity in Madeira and Portugal and to create novel ways of conducting deep-sea research, fosucing on low-cost methods. This collaboration includes reciprocal participation of early career researchers (ECRs) in each project’s training activities and workshops, creating valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange and skill development.
TwinDEEPS is also developing collaboration opportunities with LORELEI-X and AXOLOTL, both led by CMMI (Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute). LORELEI-X is focused on the design and development of autonomous marine vessels, with autonomous launch and recovery, which will greatly improve ocean observation capabilities. AXOLOTL main objective is to improve more effective monitoring and management of marine ecosystems by developing and applying advanced deep learning technologies to assess marine biodiversity.
All four Twinning projects share a common mission: to strenghthen institutional and national capacity in complementary fields of marine sciences.
